Honda CB500 – Progress Post Part 2

I know it seems like we’ve been working on this Honda forever. This is an off and on project because it will most likely NOT be for sale. I say most likely because… well in the end cash always talks! 😉

Tony really wants to keep this bike as my everyday rider and I keep telling him I want to see it finished first!

Hi – I really like the cb500 hard tail you are building… I picked up 2 cb500’s last weekend and will build a hardtail very much similar to your project. I would like to know how much stretch was added and how much kickup in the bottom tubes. I want 4-5″ clearance on the ground… I have a 16″ rim and was planning on the Firestone Deluxe 500/16 rear… ~26.4″ diameter (13.2″ center) would make it about 9″ kick on the rear – does that sound unreasonable? I was thinking stretching about 3-4″, I am 6’2″ and do not want to look like I am on a kid’s bike… Also, what size tube? 1.0″ DOM – .090 wall?

    Any advice is appreciated…

    • I passed your comment on to Tony (not much of a computer guy) and he said to just give him a call and he can tell you what exactly he did to the CB and help you out with yours. Just be carefull, he might just talk your ear off about bikes! 😉 you can reach him at 5092942261 pretty much anytime.
